I received mine a couple of days ago and it keeps turning off after 20 minutes or so in each settings I've tried. Why?
Try to be sure there is enough water, otherwise it has a seeing where it automatically turns off after an interval of being on, but should come back on automatically as well. Otherwise contact Mammoth Customer support for further assistance.
Does it has a timer? Some last 4, 6, 8 or more hours. What is the maximum time for this to be diffusing constantly?
It does not have a timer. It has 2 settings; intermittent and constant. On intermittent it would likely go for 8 hours. On constant flow it can reach 6 easily. Warning, after a few uses it becomes hard to open, like a suction.
Is it common for the mist to come out so thick it just falls to the surface it sits on or is mine defective? My table ends up covered in water and oil.
You may have filled it past the fill line and/or used too much oil. Otherwise contact Mammoth Customer support for further assistance.
Mammoth Serenity made in?
Made in China.
How do I get it to work intermittently? There were no directions.
There are two small rubber buttons located directly over where the electric plug is attached to the unit. The top button controls the on/off cycle as well as the intermittent cycles: Pressed 1x for continuous diffusing - Press 2x for 2-minute-ON/OFF - Press 3x for 3-minute-ON/OFF to maximize use for approx. 6-8 HR. Press 4x to turn unit OFF. The bottom button controls the lights: Press once to cycle multi-colors and more times to keep just one color illuminating. Or, press the light button to turn off the light. Love this little bagel-looking unit!
What size room does it work for? Would it work for a large room like a living room or family room?
Compact as it may be, it is super beneficial. Personally, I feel that the aroma and medicinal effects of the essential oils used in this diffuser are evident and work throughout each level of my home (approx. 1500 sq ft each). I usually place it in a central location for use through the day. Or, move the unit into a bedroom when necessary to diffuse medicinal or sleep-time oils at night.
Does it needs replacements like cartridges or something to work before a time?
No. This diffuser needs water and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Runs for a few hours. Shuts itself off when water drops to a certain level.
Does gunk build up? It it easy to clean?
I use mine daily & no gunk but I'm sure it depends on how much oil you use too. I use 4-6 drops per fill.
What to do if water went in air outlet and no mist coming out?
Try to remove all the water from the diffuser and to clean the water from the air outlet by using a piece of cotton then keep it open for few hours to dry well or keep it for one day, then fill it with water as usual and operate it, I hope this will be beneficial and work with you.
Does it have a plug?
Yes, it comes with a power cord and must be plugged in to function as it does not run off of batteries.
It says that there is a 1 year limited warrany and to visit your website for tutorials and instructions, but I didn't see a website posted?
The warranty is 1 year from the date of your purchase! Simply call or visit us (Mammoth - info printed on the user manual as well as packaging) or you can also send us a message directly via our contact form.
Is it made of wood?
No, it is hard plastic that resembles wood grain. I would think real wood would warp under the moisture produced by the vapors of the unit.
Can you use citrus oil in it?
Yes. Also Young Living and Native American Nutritionals - all excellent companies with the highest quality oils.
I received this unit yesterday and it worked great. Today it won't "see" there is water in it. Filled just below square but red light just flashes.
Make sure you're not using distilled/reverse-osmosis or high-alkaline water, the vapors won't come through if you do. If straight tap water yields the same results, return the defective unit.
Is it normal for this diffuser to emit thick fog-like mist that cascades to a downward direction? I love the aesthetics but it scares me.
Yes, that fog is normal or at least it happens with mine. I don't think you have anything to fear. It is just concentrated water and essential oils. I find it mesmerizing. Enjoy it!
What powers this unit? Does it run on batteries?
It has an adapter that plugs into the wall - no batteries! Works great - has automatic shut-off too.
Does it charge via USB to use in the car?
It plugs in to an outlet. If you got some kind of converter that allowed a 2 prong plug that might work.
Does this thing really purify air?
No. This is diffuser and should be used only with essential oil for aromatherapy or for scented smells. To clean air, an air purifier is needed.
Does it heat the oil?
Nope. The air comes out cool. It uses ultra sonic vibrations at 1 million x per second to diffuse the water.
Can this work with 220V power?
No, it cannot.
White noise?
This item has many problems but "white noise" is not one of them. You can hear the motor but it doesn't drown out other noises in the home environment.
Can anybody tell me how does this work? No instructions?
You can watch this Youtube tutorial titled "Mammoth Serenity Aroma Diffuser Setup".
